Personal Life of Jameson

Susan Jameson is an English actress who was born on August 13, 1941, in Barnt Green, Worcestershire, England. Jameson is a popular TV actress who played a wide range of roles depicting different characters and stories. She is a mother of two children. She gave birth to a son named Mark in 1960 in whom people called as illegitimate as the father of her son has never been identified.

Someone adopted her son Mark and changed the name from Mark to Nigel. Later in life, Nigel tried to contact his biological mother but Jameson resisted further contact writing to him stating that,“I have no sense of being your mother”. Later, Susan Jameson married to an actor James Bolam. She had a successful marriage and in 1977, she gave birth to a daughter named Lucy. She is enjoying a happy marriage with her husband and also worked in many TV series with him.

Jameson as an Actress

Between 2003 and 2013, Jameson portrayed herself as Esther Lane in the BBC crime drama “New Tricks” where she received an immense amount of popularity and is still best known for the character she played in this drama. Beyond this, she also played a variety of other television roles that was indeed popular. This opened a number of ways for Susan Jameson to establish herself as a successful English TV actress.

There was a British soap opera known as Coronation Street and Jameson played the role of Myra Booth on the set. After that, there was a television drama named “Taking Three Girls” which was broadcasted by BBC1. It was the story of three young women who were sharing a flat in Swinging London. Here, Jameson played the character of Kate. BBC afterward produced another British television period drama “When the Boat Comes in”. This series showed the political struggles of the 1920s and 1930s and its impact on the people all around. Jameson was starred as Jessie Seaton in this series and the series also became very popular among the people.

A British sitcom “All in Good Faith” was aired on TV from 1985 to 1988 which shows the struggle of a person with his life. In the third series, Jameson as Emma Lambe, played the role of the wife of the person that was suffering from a lot of difficulties. She also played the role of the second wife of John Duttine in the drama “To Serve Them All My Days” which was aired by BBC. It was a British television drama series created from a novel consisting of 13 worth watching episodes. She was also a part of a children’s comedy series named as Bad Boyes. In this series, she played the role lead character’s mother.

Jameson Works with her Husband

In her whole career as an actress, she also did some series with her husband. Most of the famous series include The Likely Lads, New Tricks, When the Boat Comes In, Grandpa in My Pocket, and also in an ITV legal drama which was entitled “Close and True”. In many of the series, she took part in guest roles and these series are UFO, Special Branch, Hi-de-Hi, Dalziel and Pascoe, Z-Cars, Holby City, and Space: 1999.

Besides this, Jameson is also a regular part of BBC produced Doctor Who Audios where she played the character of Mrs. Wibbsey who is actually the doctor’s housekeeper. She worked in three series with Serpent Crest, Hornets’ Nest, Tom Baker, and Demon Quest. She worked a lot for Doctor Who Audios and because of this, she gained much attention of the audience.

There was a famous novel by Catherine Cookson where Jameson worked as an audio book narrator. In 2014, Forelock Books published Jameson’s first book Pony Tail which is basically a collection of short stories consisting of four native pony breeds that are the Connemara, the Welsh Cob, the Shetland, and the Exmoor.

Jameson has struggled hard to reach the level where she is today. She spent a lot of time of her life working as an actress in different television series and because of her hard work, she was immensely liked by many people.
