Clenbuterol is a steroid-like drug, but functions like a steroid. This drug belongs to a group of medications known as beta-2-agonists. It has many similarities with stimulation drugs. This drug was first used for treating the symptoms of asthma but later it was found to be very functional in the promotion of muscle growth along with weight loss when on the clenbuterol cycle. It is often well-known by the short-term, ‘clen’. It is popular among bodybuilders and athletes due to the drug’s ability to increase fat loss via thermogenesis.

How it actually works?

Clenbuterol works by increasing the core temperature of the body, causing the basic metabolic rate to increase. With the rising of the body’s metabolic rate, the body will be prone to use its fat stores for energy. Eventually, the body will burn fat, leaving behind leaner muscles. This is because the body is caught off guard that can affect its metabolic rate, interfering with the purpose of taking clenbuterol. Most bodybuilders prefer to take 200-400 mg of potassium intake in the form of 3-4 bananas because being on a clenbuterol cycle may deplete the natural potassium in the body in some cases.

The common cycle: This is the most used cycle and it is frequently mentioned by bodybuilders. In this cycle, it involves taking of a steady, prescribed, and controlled dosage of clenbuterol over an initial seven day period. After the seven days are over, the person goes cold. This happens to allow the body to become accustomed to the effects of the drug. The cycle is repeated over again after the second week has passed.

The incremental cycle: During the first weeks, you would take a low dosage of clen to help reduce chances of any stress which may occur in the body. Then, increase the  dosage without a break. When you start with a lower dosage, the body is not left unbalanced, unlike what happens during the burst cycle. Clenbuterol will circulate inside the body over a longer period due to there being no break in-between the drug.

The common and the burst cycle provides the body enough time to eliminate all the waste from it. This way is mostly preferred by bodybuilders and athletes who want to see results in a shorter period of time. In contrast, the incremental cycle gives the body enough time to get accustomed to the drug without the need to eliminate the substance from it after a period of time.

Dosage chart:

The weekly increase by 20 mcg is required for men and is followed by the same decrease until the initial figures are reached.

Men: 60 mcg – 80 mcg – 100 mcg – 120 mcg – 140 mcg – 120 mcg – 100 mcg – 80 mcg -60 mcg

Side effects:

There is a variety of side effects that are common, which are related to the amount of dosage. These include:

  • High blood pressure
  • elevated heart rate
  • Nervousness and headache
  • Muscle cramps
  • Sweating
  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea

Some of these side effects can be reduced by drinking a lot of water and avoid taking the supplement very late in the day.

It is always crucial to stick to the recommended dosage and do not take it longer than two weeks at a time. Ignoring the dosage recommendations can cause very serious health issues.

Yes. It is safe for humans. This is if and only if you do not exceed the recommended dosage, follow the instructions, and monitor your progress.
