Brad Castleberry – Is He For Real?

There are a lot of famous people and then there are also some who are infamous. Brad Castleberry falls into the latter category. If you are fairly new to the world of bodybuilding and you have only gained an interest about it recently, you will not know why people hate him so much. He is one of the most mentioned though so even if you never heard about him until now, you will hear more details about him in this write-up.

A Little Background About Brad Castleberry

It is important that before you are told the reasons why a lot of people hate him, you should know more about him first. Castleberry is born in 1985. The reason why he loved the gym is because of the influence of his grandfather and father. He was 16 years old when he started working out at a friend’s garage and he was 19 when he went to his first bodybuilding competition.

According to Brad Castleberry, it only took him a year to become a pro but he realized that bodybuilding is not his calling so he decided to play football at a junior college. Take note that he never played football in high school.

His college stats show that he played 4 times during his whole football career. He had okay stats. In fact, he completed one touchdown. All of the games that he played was registered in 2010. While his stats are okay, it was not enough to get into the NFL but then again, he claims that he did the NFL twice. There is no record of that anywhere though.

After college, he decided to focus again on weight lifting and it is not a surprise that he uses social media in order to promote himself. His social media accounts have a lot of followers but it seems that some people follow him not because they like him but because they want to be updated with what he does so he can be bashed.

Reasons Why Castleberry is Hated

He may have lied about his statistics and how well he played football but why is he getting so much backlash from the social media community? There are reasons for this:

  • He continuously brags about how strong he is.
  • He feels the need to show off his body often.
  • He says that he is humble when a lot of people would never describe him with that adjective.

Brad Castleberry sometimes say that he has broken some world records but he does not specify what records he has broken. This has made people skeptical about what he is truly capable of. This is also the reason why he is getting a lot of backlash in social media. If you take a look at his social media accounts, you will see that he has some supporters who believe in him and leave positive comments; but most of the comments he gets are negative.

He has always been called out for the things that he does but it seems like he screens the comments that he gets. He immediately deletes and blocks the person who challenges him into doing something in person. Some people are saying that this is because he is a fake. He is only claiming to be strong when in fact, he is not.

The Use of Fake Weights

Some people are saying that the reason why he appears so strong in his videos is because he uses fake weights. Take note that these are only claims, there are only speculations about this because the weights that he uses in his videos are so hard to fake. The videos are also taken at the gym so it will be hard to input fake weights with real weights and not notice how different they are.

He Uses Photoshop

While the use of fake weights is hard to prove, there are some people who claim that he uses Photoshop for his photos so that he can add more weights to the ones that he carries. He posted a picture wherein he was carrying 10 plates for each side which is not possible as the maximum is only 9. The fact that this is a picture too does not prove that he is that strong.

He is Strong

People would have to admit that even with the fake weights and the Photoshop, he is still quite strong. He is also very thick-skinned. He continues to allow people to comment on his pictures and videos even if he receives a lot of hate for it. Who knows, maybe Brad Castleberry will be able to prove himself worthy to his doubters in the future.
